Our Story
From separate clinics to one connected health service
Better care, better learning, and better outcomes happen when people, disciplines and services work together.
Health Clinics with a shared purpose – built apart
For many years, the University of Melbourne operated teaching clinics across different health disciplines. Each clinic operated separately.
That model served an important purpose – but over time, its limits became clear.
Real-world learning
Students gained hands-on clinical experience
Community care
Valued services delivered to local communities
A bigger opportunity
Greater impact through connection, coordination and shared systems
The journey to OneMTHC
University of Melbourne Faculty review identifies the opportunity to bring clinics together under one model
MTHC is established as a not-for-profit organisation
Transition completed — six clinics brought together as one organisation
Expansion beyond the original teaching clinic model
- Growth in private services
- New disciplines introduced
- Increasingly integrated approach to care
A continued shift toward OneMTHC — a connected system of care, including a future co-located multidisciplinary model
Where we are. Where we're going. Why it matters.
